Kenny Rogers Hits #1 on Country Albums Chart for 1st Time Since 1986

Kenny Rogers’ greatest-hits compilation just hit #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart after his death last week at the age of 81. The Best of Kenny Rogers: Through the Years, which came out in 2018, took the top spot on the chart for the week ending March 26, moving 32,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., including 10,000 in album sales.

It marks the first time Rogers’ name has appeared atop that chart since February 1, 1986, thanks to his December 1985 LP, The Heart of the Matter. The best-of collection also hit at #9 on the latest edition of the all-genre Billboard 200–his first top 10 on that chart since 1983.
