Kobe The Academy Award Winner

As we all know the world lost a true basketball legend this past weekend, Kobe Bryant was truly one of the best that stepped on the court, he showed us that,   he was a 5 time NBA champ, 2 time MVP Champ and an outstanding father and husband.  But did you know he was also an Academy Award Winner?

When Kobe Bryant announced his retirement back in November of 2015, he penned a poem for The Players’ Tribune, which was later adapted into a five-minute and 22-second animation. Narrated by Kobe himself, the piece won an Academy Award for “Best Animated Short Film” in 2018.

Now following his tragic death this past Sunday, Granity Studio has made Dear Basketball available to stream for free to show everyone what kind of poet he was as well. Just like Basketball, Kobe put everything into play perfectly, to see his award-winning animation head to http://dearbasketball.com/
