Wait, Wait, Wait… Is It Reese’s Or “Reesies?”

The new rankings for candy are out state-by-state, and you’ll be glad to to know that Oregon and Washington are trend-setters, as our pick matches the national top-ranker… Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

But how do you say it?

Being an Oregon native, I’ve never been confused about it.  It’s Reese’s, and it rhymes with Pieces.  That’s a pretty obvious read of it, and for 40 years, I was unconcerned.  But this weekend, I heard at least 3 different country music stars (Luke Bryan, I’m looking at you) pronounce it as “Reesies.”  Like, rhymes with feces.  (Ooof, terrible rhyme.)  And THEN, I was at a gathering of other Oregon natives this weekend, and there was an actual debate!

It’s Reese’s, right?  Not Reesies?  Right?  Somebody back me up here…
