Your car’s extended warranty is no one’s business but yours!

Come on admit it , You know that feeling you get when you see an unrecognizable number pop up on your phone, instantly you’re saying OMG not another one, but instead you, take a chance and answer and get greeted with “Hi! I’m calling today with important news about your car’s extended warranty.”

If you’ve been dealing with these auto warranty scam calls more than ever, you’re not alone.  The FCC says auto warranty robocalls were the top call complaint of 2020 with the dreaded trend continuing in 2021.  These robo callers do not care if you’re on the Do Not Call registry.  Now knowing we’ve all had enough of these kinda calls, I want you to remember that these calls are illegal and have some tips so you can hopefully make them stop.

The first line of auto warranty call defense? Simply do not answer your phone.  You can also use your phone’s “silence unknown callers” feature to send the scams straight to voicemail.

If you must pick up the phone, DO NOT press a single button or ask to speak to an operator to remove you from their calling list.  That just lets the scammers know that your number is connected to someone with a pulse and will open the floodgates to even more of these robocalls.

Wanna level the playing field?  Get yourself a “robot lawyer” to fight these scammers.  Robocall blocking app RoboRevenge will register your number on a Do Not Call List, then give these scam artists a fake credit card number so they’ll leave you alone.  Then the app will send a dispute letter on your behalf demanding compensation from these jerks.

You can also file a complaint with the FCC and FTC.  While it might take a minute of your time to do so, your helping investigators locate these scam artists to end their calls once and for all.
